One Lovely Award

What a way to end the month, Jennifer at Reading with Tequila gave me the One Lovely Blog award. If you haven’t been over to her site, definitely go check it out. Thank you so much, Jennifer, I really appreciate this award.
Now, of course in blog award fashion, I am to pass the love around. For this award, the rules are to award it to 15 other bloggers I have newly discovered. Here is my list of 15 (although I am being a little liberal on “newly discovered”) that are all in my Google Reader, so give them all a little visit.

1. A Booklover’s Diary
2. Bellas Novella
3. Book Nut
4. Book Rat
5. Booktumbling
6. Farm Lane Books
7. Find Your Next Book Here
8. Life and Times of a “New” New Yorker
9. Mis(h)takes
10. She Reads and Reads
11. That’s a Novel Idea
12. The Ladybug Reads
13. The Printed Page
14. The Sweet Bookshelf
15. Today’s Adventure

Spread the Love Award

This Saturday I had a very lovely surprise waiting for me from Debbi at BookMagic, the Spread the Love Award. If you have not checked out her blog, definitely stop by, her site is a lot of fun.

Now, I would like to spread a little blog award love to a few more bloggers and sites:

Kim at The Queen Bees
Alita at Alita.Reads
Andrea at The Little Bookworm (OMG, how cute is that little owl?!?)

They are all bloggers that should definitely be in your Google Reader if they aren’t already there.

Thanks again, Debbi!

A New Award

I am very thankful, once again for another award for Bailey’s and Books.

Esme over at Chocolate & Croissants awarded me the Let’s Be Friends award.

friends awardAs she notes on her page about the award, “Blogs that receive the Let’s Be Friends Award are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated.” I wish I could remember who first wrote about Esme’s site since I would definitely give her an award. But as I can’t, I will just encourage you to go to her site and read about cooking and reading. I found her from a link to a post about heavenly looking Golden Eggs she made from a recipe in the book Confections of a Closet Master Baker by Gesine Bullock-Prado.

This is the second time I have been awarded this, and I really appreciate it. I do enjoy blogging so much for the friendly, community aspect – so this really is so kind.

Now the fun about blogging awards is that I get to share the wealth, so I am passing the Let’s Be Friends Award to:

Debbi at Bookmagic
Colette at A Buckeye Girl Reads
Jennifer at Rundpinne

All three have such inviting sites and often stop by to comment on recent posts, so if you aren’t a regular, but sure to go visit them.

Don’t forget — Book Blogger Appreciation Week will be held next week, September 14 – 18, 2009. You can cast you ballots for a variety of categories now until Saturday. See you there!!

Super Comments Award

Last night I had a lovely surprise on my blog, a link from Deb at Bookmagic directing me to her blog to pick-up the Super Comments Award. This is the second award for this little blog, and I couldn’t be more thankful. If you haven’t been over to Bookmagic you should definitely check it out. Her and I are in three challenges together: the August Reading Challenge, the Sookie Stackhouse Reading Challenge and Everything Austen so it has been great to connect with her through those, as well as reading her reviews. Aside from checking out her blog, you can also follow her
on Twitter.

Thank you Deb for this great, and so cute (who doesn’t love a Panda), award!

comments award

The fun of getting these blogging awards, is passing them on to other bloggers, so it’s funny I should get this award now, since I have been thinking about commenting a lot recently as my blog is about to hit a milestone (for me) – receiving 200 comments.

If there is one thing I have come to realize over these past few blogging months it’s that there are few things more exciting for a blogger than seeing new comments to their posts (aside from maybe seeing that ARC you have been daydreaming over sitting in your mailbox). Sure, we can have followers to the blog, and on Twitter, etc. but it is that direct communication from someone who has read your post and taken the time to share a word or two. Regardless if you write for others or just write for yourself, there is something rewarding in knowing that at least one other person read it too.

So to have this award to pass along right now is perfect. While I appreciate all the commenters to my site, there are a few that I would like to pass this award on to:

  • Kathy at Bermudaonion – She was the first person to welcome me to book blogging with a comment to my post and she has been commenting here ever since. Even if it’s just to wish me luck on a challenge, I appreciate that she reads my posts and drops a line.
  • Carolyn at Book Chick City – Also new-ish to blogging, she stops by to share her thoughts and offer encouragement quite often.
  • Megan at Write Meg – Her first comment was to a recent post I had about breaking spines or not. Her comments are more a conversation, which is nice.

If you haven’t visited any of these blogs, I highly recommend you do so.

And now ladies, pass this award on to some of your commenters as well.
